Although all the details need to be completed, it was agreed by the leadership to have the type of activity that combines an enjoyable social evening with the seriousness of the cause. While UJA will be sending their representative to inform the group how the funds are being used to resettle the many new immigrants to Israel, they will also bring the message of how the Jews of the former Soviet Union are being helped by the Joint Distribution Com mittee. Local leadership will be present to let them know how their funds impact the local agencies. Both the Silversteins and the Swimmers express hope that many will increase their level of giving to meet our expanding needs and in turn come to the party to be recognized for the gifts. They also express their desire that all who have been generous at this level come and enjoy the evening as our way of saying thank you.
